Canadian Exploration Company Moves F&A Services Offshore

Summary
The client, Canada's largest independent oil and gas exploration and production company, faced renegotiating its contract for outsourced Finance and Accounting (F&A) services. The company operates in Southeast Asia, North America, and the North Sea, and also explores in North Africa, Latin America, and the Caribbean.

Client Challenge
Develop a strategy as to when and how to best enter into negotiations for a new five-year contract for outsourced F&A services. The new contract would include about 70 FTEs (Full-Time Employment)and some element of offshore service provision.

How Alsbridge Helped

  • Prepared a market assessment and ran a brief Request for Information (RFI)
  • Reviewed and updated the draft business case and reviewed the existing contract
  • Prepared all draft contract schedules and draft terms and conditions developed by an external law firm using an Alsbridge term sheet as key input
  • Developed the business case and led the client’s negotiating team
Benefit (draft)
  • Improved operational efficiencies by moving F&A services offshore (?) (dollar savings?)
