Ongoing survey tracks trends in shared service centers in the U.S. and abroad

The previous report, released in March 2007, found that the success of a shared services center is directly linked to a company’s executive buy-in and support. The report also highlighted the use of shared services in India and China as top locations of choice, and that the centers were mainly servicing finance and accounting, human resources and procurement.
Current Alsbridge data suggests that organizations can realize a cost reduction of between 30 and 50 percent by consolidating business functions into a shared services center. Additionally, Alsbridge research has found that this concept has tremendous appeal to organizations because of increased globalization, a need for 24/7 access to information and a desire to automate administrative tasks and activities.
