Leaders Face Challenge: Set Up Benchmarking, Sell It To Stakeholders

ProBenchmark Workshop Sept. 25 at IQPC to Cover Strategies, Practices

September 3, 2008, Dallas, Texas — IT leaders choosing shared services for their firms face the twin challenge of setting up benchmarking practices and then selling them to key stakeholders.

Executives of ProBenchmark, a service of Alsbridge, Inc., will provide answers and insight at a benchmarking workshop Monday, Sept. 22, during the IQPC Shared Services Summit in Lake Las Vegas, Nevada.

Workshop H, scheduled for 5:45 p.m. – 8:45 p.m. (Monday Sept. 22 in the Tiberius 1 room) will be led by Michael Fraley, top executives of ProBenchmark and managing directors of Alsbridge.

“Business units and stakeholders want answers from the shared services leader, to justify capital expenditures, particularly in an environment that is designed to save costs,” said Ben Trowbridge, CEO of Alsbridge. “To succeed, leaders must benchmark effectively and communicate the payback of shared services initiatives.”

The workshop will include:

1. Benchmarking strategies


2. Pricing strategies for charge backs


3. Identifying whom you should benchmark against (competitors, outsourced offerings, offshore opportunities, and historical data)


4. Accounting for the added values of security and customer/business unit knowledge (what it’s worth to business units)

The workshop is for shared service organization facilities with full chargeback environments, or that are considering this environment.

Also, on September 24 from 1:10 p.m. – 1:55 p.m. (in the Tiberius V) Fraley will participate in a three person panel, 30 Ideas in 40 Minutes: A Brief Summary of Some Key Takeaways and Easy Ideas to Implement.
