Tobacco Company Outsources Solution for Payroll Processing, HR

Summary
As part of its restructuring, the client, a large tobacco manufacturer, decided to outsource its payroll function, time management and infrastructure management. The client needed an outsourcing provider to supply payroll and time management services to over 20,000 employees in Europe, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Central Asia. The client required a unified SAP Human Capital Management (HCM) based solution to payroll and time management services across different countries.

Client Challenge
Senior executives were challenged to:

  • Deliver more value for the same or less cost.
  • Integrate payroll functions with other Human Resources (HR) roles and responsibilities
  • Achieve user-friendly payroll processing and a more comprehensive HR perspective
Lacking the skills and resources to evaluate third-party outsourcing providers, the client engaged Alsbridge to help select a provider.

How Alsbridge Helped
  • Led development of a Request for Proposal (RFP) to identify an appropriate supplier to meet the specific needs of the client’s payroll and time management organization, while also linking with its internal HR shared service organization
  • Assisted with the supplier selection process, by supporting the RFP analysis, leading supplier presentation workshops and site visits, and analysing outcomes
  • Conducted an internal assessment of the payroll and time management organizations in 15 countries to define the implementation plan and prepare for the supplier due diligence
