Using a nontraditional outsourcing agreement, ISG helped Dr. Pepper Snapple Group gain flexibility, agility and speed to market.
As its long-term managed services agreement with a single supplier drew to a close, Dr. Pepper took the opportunity to review its objectives and evaluate its options. The company wanted to improve its speed to market, take advantage of emerging technologies, mitigate risk and quantify and track anticipated benefits
Imagining IT Differently
ISG suggested an open-ended Request for Solution approach that focused on general problems, goals and objectives, rather than on pre-defined approaches and specific terms and conditions. In a transformational scenario, where there is more than one right answer, the RFS worked well, especially given the client’s aggressive timeline.
Future Made Possible
- The RFS resulted in cost savings and a complete technology refresh, as well as an immediate start to the transformation process.
- The RFS yielded more competition and diverse solutions.
- Focusing on developing solutions reduced the time and effort spent documenting responses.
“The Request for Solution process provided significant benefits compared to the RFP-based sourcing processes we have traditionally utilized. In 24 weeks, we went from constructive discussions with six providers to a fully executed contract.”
-Scott Bonneau, VP IT, Corporate & Hosting Services
